About the coffee

Juan Carlos and his wife Aracely are a young couple in a picturesque village of farmers who produce both coffee and vegetables at the highest altitudes of Jinotega. Juan Carlos' father, José, passed away just after meeting their baby daughter (Carla) and giving them more land on which to grow coffee. They are keeping up Jose's tradition by producing excellent microlots. When you visit their farm, you can hear and may be lucky enough to spot a howler monkey, and you can see tropical birds in the shade trees that shelter their coffee from the sun. This exotic coffee's cupping notes are likely a result of excellent farming techniques and the combination of red and yellow Catuai

How to brew

We're here to demystify brewing a good coffee and to strip it back to basics, so that everyone can be confident of getting barista-quality brew at home.
Brew Guides

Fireheart – seasonal, fresh and alive with flavour. That's Living Coffee.

Our small-batch coffee is always seasonal, always hand-roasted to order, and posted direct to your door in 100% recyclable packaging.

We also pay our farmers 50% more than FairTrade prices for a true living wage. That's why we are Living Coffee.

Seasonal Coffee

Different regions have different harvest times throughout the year, so we buy freshly harvested beans, only when they're ready.

That's why our coffee tastes different—it's still alive with flavour when you drink it.

Roasted to order

Coffee is made to be drunk when the beans are at their peak freshness. It's why we roast to order, pack it and post it.

You'll want to keep coffee in bean form until the past possible minute to get the full flavour.
