About the coffee
In 2012–2013, Pedro’s children, Daniela and Pedro Pablo, joined the family business, their innovation and dedication revitalized the coffee production, sparking renewed interest among local farmers. This led to the creation of Sol de la Mañana, a social program now supporting over 80 small producers out of poverty. This lot showcases the Rodriguez family's dedication to quality and sustainability. Ripe, nearly purple cherries are handpicked by trained local harvesters over multiple passes, then naturally processed with great care. After sun-drying on raised beds, the beans finish in a coco dryer at low temperatures for slow, even drying—an approach that highlights the coffee’s clean, fruit-forward profile and vibrant character.
Pacamara, a prized hybrid varietal of Pacas (dwarf Bourbon mutation) crossed with Maragogipe (large Typica mutation), is known for its complex flavor and oversized beans. In this expression, expect a cup full of tropical and stone fruits—elegant, expressive, and unmistakably Bolivian. This coffee reflects not only the richness of its terroir but also the passion and innovation of a family determined to elevate Bolivia’s coffee on the world stage and a fitting varietal and process for our inaugural blockbuster coffee.
